Removing girdling roots for tree health and longevity

Trees beset by girdling roots are unstable and likely to never grow to their maximum potential. With the need for healthy canopy in both our homes and urban centers, maximizing the potential of all trees is critical. The key to saving a tree with girdling roots is to address the problem early with some strategic root prunning. Filmed by Henry Mayer of Miami-Dade County Extension and featuring Broward County Extension Agent Michael Orfanedes and LAWNCARE USA's Juan Sierra, this video demonstrates the difference between healthy trees and gridling-root stunted trees and then captures the girdling root prunning process.
